INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (MAIN BODY ECU)

CHECK TAILLIGHT

INSPECT FUSE (RR FOG)

INSPECT REAR FOG LIGHT BULB

INSPECT REAR FOG LIGHT RELAY (Marking: RR FOG)

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAIN BODY ECU - BATTERY)

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (REAR FOG LIGHT RELAY - BATTERY)

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (REAR FOG LIGHT - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DIMMER SWITCH - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)

INSPECT REAR FOG LIGHT SWITCH

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
   

2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and press the intelligent tester main switch ON.
   

3. Select the item below in the ACTIVE TEST and then check that the relay operates.
   
   

   Main body ECU

   Item	Test Details	Diagnostic Note
   R Fog Light Rly	Turn rear fog light relay: ON / OFF	-

   OK:

   Headlights (LOW) come on.
   

1. Check that the taillights come on when the light control switch is turned on (TAIL).
   

OK:

Taillights come on.

1. Remove the RR FOG fuse from the instrument panel junction block.
   

2. Measure the resistance of the fuse.
   

   Standard resistance:

   Below 1 Ω
   

1. Remove the rear fog light bulb.
   

2. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1, then check that the bulb illuminates.
   

   OK:

   Bulb illuminates.
   

1. Remove the rear fog light relay from the No. 6 relay block.
   

2. Measure the resistance of the relay.
   

   Standard resistance:

   Tester Connection	Specified Condition
   3 - 5	10 kΩ or higher
   3 - 5	Below 1 Ω (Battery voltage applied to terminals 1 and 2)

1. Disconnect the E19 ECU connector.
   

2. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.
   

   Standard voltage:

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   E19-2 (RFGO) - Body ground	Light control switch on (TAIL)	10 to 14 V

1. Remove the rear fog light relay from the No. 6 relay block.
   

2. Measure the voltage of the relay block.
   

   Standard voltage:

   Tester Connection	Specified Condition
   Relay block rear fog light relay terminal 5 - Body ground	10 to 14 V

1. Disconnect the N1*1 and N5*1 or S11*2 rear fog light connectors.
   

   HINT:

   *1: for Short Body

   *2: for Long Body

2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors and relay block.
   
   

   Standard resistance:

   for short body

   Relay block rear fog light relay terminal 3 - N1-2	Below 1 Ω
   Relay block rear fog light relay terminal 3 or N1-2 - Body ground	10 kΩ or higher
   Relay block rear fog light relay terminal 3 - N5-2	Below 1 Ω
   Relay block rear fog light relay terminal 3 or N5-2 - Body ground	10 kΩ or higher
   N1-1 - Body ground	Below 1 Ω
   N5-1 - Body ground	Below 1 Ω

   for long body

   Tester Connection	Specified Condition
   Relay block rear fog light relay terminal 3 - S11-2	Below 1 Ω
   Relay block rear fog light relay terminal 3 or S11-2 - Body ground	10 kΩ or higher
   S11-1 - Body ground	Below 1 Ω

1. Disconnect the E15 headlight dimmer switch connector.
   

2. Disconnect the E20 main body ECU connector.
   

3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
   
   

   Standard resistance:

   for LH side

   Tester Connection	Specified Condition
   E20-9 (RFOG) - E15-2 (B)	Below 1 Ω
   E20-9 (RFOG) or E15-2 (B) - Body ground	10 kΩ or higher

   for RH side

   Tester Connection	Specified Condition
   E20-9 (RFOG) - E15-9 (B)	Below 1 Ω
   E20-9 (RFOG) or E15-9 (B) - Body ground	10 kΩ or higher

1. Remove the headlight dimmer switch.
   

2. Measure the resistance of the switch.
   

Standard resistance:

for LH side

2 (B) - 12 (EL)	Fog light switch OFF	10 kΩ or higher
2 (B) - 12 (EL)	Fog light switch ON	Below 1 Ω

for RH side
