DTC B2785 Communication Malfunction between ECUs Connected by LIN


DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when the communication among the certification ECU, instrument panel junction block (main body ECU), ID code box and steering lock actuator (steering lock ECU) stops for 10 seconds or more.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK FOR DTC

  1. Clear the DTC (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001RM1004X.html).

  1. Recheck for the DTC.

    OK:
    B2785 output does not reoccur.

2.CHECK WIRE HARNESS (LIN COMMUNICATION LINE)

  1. Disconnect the E6 and E63 ECU connectors.

  1. Disconnect the E51 box connector.

  1. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Specified Condition
    E63-10 (LIN) - E51-3 (LIN1)
    		Below 1 Ω
    E63-10 (LIN) - ID-9 (LIN1)
    E63-10 (LIN) - E6-5 (LIN)
    E63-10 (LIN), E51-3 (LIN1), ID-9 (LIN1) or E6-5 (LIN) - Body ground
    		10 kΩ or higher


NG
REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK


3.CHECK CERTIFICATION ECU (OPERATION)

  1. Temporarily replace the certification ECU with a new or normally functioning one.

  1. Check for DTC.

    OK:
    B2785 output does not reoccur.

4.CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK (OPERATION)

  1. Temporarily replacing the instrument panel junction block (main body ECU) with a new or normally functioning one.

5.CHECK STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (OPERATION)

  1. Temporarily replace the steering lock actuator (steering lock ECU) with a new or normally functioning one.
