DESCRIPTION
The passenger airbag manual cut-off switch circuit consists of parts including the center airbag sensor and the airbag cut-off switch. DTC B1651/33 is set when a malfunction is detected in the airbag cut-off switch circuit.DTC No.

| When one of following conditions is met:
- Center airbag sensor detects line short signal, open signal, short to ground signal or short to B+ signal in airbag cut-off switch circuit for 2 seconds
- Airbag cut-off switch malfunction
- Center airbag sensor malfunction

- Passenger airbag manual cut-off switch
- Center airbag sensor

WIRING DIAGRAM
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
Clear the DTCs (RAV4_ACA30 RM000000XFE06SX.html).
Turn the ignition switch off.
Turn the ignition switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
Check the DTCs (RAV4_ACA30 RM000000XFE06SX.html).
- OK:
- DTC B1651/33 is not output.
- HINT:
- DTCs other than DTC B1651/33 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

2.CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTOR |
Turn the ignition switch off.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
Check that the connectors are properly connected to the center airbag sensor and the airbag cut-off switch.
- OK:
- The connectors are properly connected.
3.INSPECT AIRBAG CUT-OFF SWITCH |
Disconnect the E68 passenger airbag manual cut-off switch connector.
Measure the resistance of the switch.
- Standard resistance:

4.CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE (FOR OPEN) |
Disconnect the instrument panel wire connector from the airbag cut-off switch.
Using a service wire, connect E68-1 (PMC-) and E68-2 (PMC+) of connector C.
- NOTICE:
- Do not forcibly insert the service wire into the terminals of the connector when connecting.
Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.
- Standard resistance:

5.CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE (FOR SHORT) |
Disconnect the service wire from connector C.
Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.
- Standard resistance:

6.CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE (TO B+) |
Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.
- Standard voltage:

7.CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE (TO GROUND) |
Turn the ignition switch off.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.
- Standard resistance:

8.CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY |
Connect the connectors to the center airbag sensor and airbag cut-off switch.
Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
Turn the ignition switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
Clear the DTCs (RAV4_ACA30 RM000000XFE06SX.html).
Turn the ignition switch off.
Turn the ignition switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
Check the DTCs (RAV4_ACA30 RM000000XFE06SX.html).
- OK:
- DTC B1651/33 is not output.
- HINT:
- DTCs other than DTC B1651/33 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.
