DESCRIPTION

Engine start conditions or system malfunctions can be checked by observing the status of the engine switch indicator light.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.INSPECT ENGINE SWITCH


    Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35.1Az-Fe Starting.Starting System (W/ Entry And Start System).Entry And Start System  Engine Switch Indicator Circuit
  1. Remove the engine switch (RAV4_ACA30 RM0000020P000NX.html).

  1. Apply battery voltage to the switch and check the illumination condition of the engine switch indicator light.

    OK:
    Measurement Condition
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    Battery terminal (+) → Terminal 11 (SWIL)
    Battery terminal (-) → Terminal 4 (COM) or 5 (GND)
    Battery voltage is applied to the terminals
    Illuminates
    (Illumination of lettering)
    Battery terminal (+) → Terminal 12 (INDS)
    Battery terminal (-) → Terminal 4 (COM) or 5 (GND)
    Battery voltage is applied to the terminals
    Illuminates (green)
    Battery terminal (+) → Terminal 13 (INDW)
    Battery terminal (-) → Terminal 4 (COM) or 5 (GND)
    Battery voltage is applied to the terminals
    Illuminates (amber)
    NOTICE:
    1. If the positive (+) lead and the negative (-) lead are incorrectly connected, the engine switch indicator light does not illuminate.
    2. If the voltage is too low, the indicator light does not illuminate.

  1. Disconnect the E31 engine switch connector.

  1. Disconnect the E19 and E20 main body ECU connectors.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
