DESCRIPTION

DTC B2281 is stored when the circuit between the main body ECU and shift lock control ECU is abnormal.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - SHIFT LOCK CONTROL ECU)


    Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35.1Az-Fe Starting.Starting System (W/ Entry And Start System). Dtc B2281 P Signal Malfunction

  1. Disconnect the E18 main body ECU connector.

  1. Disconnect the E44 ECU connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Condition
    		Specified Condition
    E18-15 (P) - E44-7 (P2)
    		Always
    		Below 1 Ω
    E18-15 (P) or E44-7 (P2) - Body ground
    		Always
    		10 kΩ or higher


NG
REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK


2.CHECK SHIFT LOCK CONTROL ECU

  1. Temporarily replace the shift lock control ECU with a new or normally functioning one.

  1. Check that the engine starts normally.

    OK:
    Engine starts normally.

REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)
OK

END (SHIFT LOCK CONTROL ECU IS DEFECTIVE)
