Exhaust Pipe Removal

Engine. Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35

  1. DISCONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR

  2. REMOVE TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

Exhaust Pipe -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR

  1. Disconnect the grommet from the floor panel.

  1. Using SST, loosen the sensor, and then disconnect the sensor by hand.

    SST
    09224-00010
    HINT:
    Rotate the sensor counterclockwise to disconnect it from the front exhaust pipe, and record how many times it is rotated.
    NOTICE:
    Do not strike the metal part of the sensor.


2. REMOVE TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs.

  1. Disconnect the 2 exhaust pipe supports and remove the tailpipe.



  1. Remove the gasket from the center exhaust pipe.

3. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 bolts.



  1. Disconnect the 3 exhaust pipe supports and remove the center exhaust pipe.

  1. Remove the gasket from the front exhaust pipe.



4. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


  1. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 compression springs and front exhaust pipe.

  1. Remove the gasket from the exhaust manifold.
