Engine Rear Oil Seal -- Installation |
| 1. INSTALL ENGINE REAR OIL SEAL |
Apply MP grease to a new oil seal lip.
 |
Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal.
- SST
- 09223-15030
09950-70010(09951-07150)
- Oil seal tap in depth:
- -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.020 to 0.020 in.)
| 2. INSTALL DRIVE PLATE AND RING GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Clean the bolt and its hole.
 |
Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the bolt end.
- Adhesive:
- Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent
Using SST, hold the crankshaft.
- SST

Install the flywheel, drive plate and drive plate spacer on the crankshaft.
Uniformly install and tighten the 8 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.
- Torque:
- 83 N*m{847 kgf*cm, 61 ft.*lbf}
- NOTICE:
- Do not start the engine for at least 1 hour after the installation.

- HINT:
- Install the automatic transaxle assembly (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001SUK00YX_01_0003.html).
