  1. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD (for 5 Door)

Rear Bumper -- Reassembly


HINT:
  1. A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (LandCruiser RM00000118W0G8X.html).
  2. When installing the rear bumper pad and rear bumper energy absorber, heat the rear bumper cover surface using a heat light.
    Standard:
    Item
    		Temperature
    Rear Bumper Cover
    		20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
NOTICE:
Do not heat the rear bumper cover excessively.


1. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD (for 5 Door)

  1. When using a new rear bumper cover:

    1. Clean the rear bumper cover surface.

    2. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover surface.

  1. When reusing the rear bumper cover:

    1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover surface.

    2. Remove the double-sided tape from the rear bumper cover.

    3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

  1. Install a new rear bumper pad.

    1. Remove the peeling paper from the face of a new rear bumper pad.

      HINT:
      After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

    2. Align the rear bumper pad with the mark-off line of the rear bumper.

    3. Install the 4 rear bumper pads.



2. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD (for 3 Door)

  1. When using a new rear bumper cover:

    1. Clean the rear bumper cover surface.

    2. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover surface.

  1. When reusing the rear bumper cover:

    1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover surface.

    2. Remove the double-sided tape from the rear bumper cover.

    3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

  1. Install a new rear bumper pad.

    1. Remove the peeling paper from the face of a new rear bumper pad.

      HINT:
      After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

    2. Align the rear bumper pad with the mark-off line of the rear bumper.

    3. Install the 2 rear bumper pads.



3. INSTALL REAR BUMPER EXTENSION RH

  1. Attach the claw to install the rear bumper extension.

  1. Install the screw.

    Torque:
    5.0 N*m{51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf}


4. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY LH (w/o Rear Fog Light)

  1. Attach the 2 claws to install the reflex reflector.

  1. Install the screw.

    Torque:
    5.0 N*m{51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf}


5. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY RH (w/o Rear Fog Light)
HINT:
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.


6. INSTALL REAR FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Rear Fog Light)

  1. Attach the 2 claws and clamp to install the light.

  1. Install the screw.

    Torque:
    5.0 N*m{51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf}


7. INSTALL REAR FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Rear Fog Light)
HINT:
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.


8. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PROTECTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Install the rear bumper protector with the screw.



9. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PROTECTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
HINT:
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.


10. INSTALL NO. 2 ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System)

HINT:
Use the same procedure to install the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor retainer on the other side.

  1. Align the keyhole and protrusion as shown in the illustration.

  1. Install the ultrasonic sensor retainer to the front bumper cover.

    NOTICE:
    Do not damage the bumper cover with the protrusion when installing the retainer.

11. INSTALL NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System)
HINT:
Use the same procedure to install the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor on the other side.

  1. Attach the 2 claws to install the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor.

  1. Connect the connector.



12. INSTALL ULTRASONIC SENSOR CLIP (w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System)
HINT:
Use the same procedure to install the ultrasonic sensor clip on the other side.

  1. Attach the 4 claws to install the ultrasonic sensor clip.



13. INSTALL NO. 5 FLOOR WIRE (w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System, w/ Rear Fog Light)

  1. Attach the 5 clamps to install the No. 5 floor wire.

  1. Connect the 3 connectors.



14. INSTALL NO. 5 FLOOR WIRE (w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System, w/o Rear Fog Light)

  1. Attach the 5 clamps to install the No. 5 floor wire.

  1. Connect the 2 connectors.



15. INSTALL NO. 5 FLOOR WIRE (w/o TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System, w/ Rear Fog Light)

  1. Attach the 2 clamps to install the No. 5 floor wire.

  1. Connect the connector.



16. INSTALL NO. 4 FLOOR WIRE (w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System, w/ Rear Fog Light)
HINT:
Use the same procedure described for the No. 5 floor wire.


17. INSTALL NO. 4 FLOOR WIRE (w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System, w/o Rear Fog Light)

Use the same procedure described for the No. 5 floor wire.


18. INSTALL NO. 4 FLOOR WIRE (w/o TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System, w/ Rear Fog Light)

19. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER

  1. When using a new rear bumper cover:

    1. Clean the rear bumper cover surface.

    2. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover surface.

  1. When reusing the rear bumper cover:

    1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover surface.

    2. Remove the double-sided tape from the rear bumper cover.

    3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.



  1. When reusing the rear bumper energy absorber:

    1. Remove the double-sided tape from the rear bumper cover.

    2. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    3. Install the double-sided tape as shown in the illustration.



  1. Install the rear bumper energy absorber.

    1. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the rear bumper energy absorber.

      HINT:
      After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

    2. Align the guide and install the rear bumper energy absorber to rear bumper cover as shown in the illustration.

      HINT:
      Press the rear bumper energy absorber firmly to install it.
