INITIALIZATION
Lighting System -- Initialization |
- NOTICE:
- Initialize the headlight swivel ECU after the headlight swivel ECU is replaced.
- If the vehicle is not equipped with the air suspension system, initialize the headlight swivel ECU (set the zero point of the height control sensor in the headlight swivel ECU) after the vehicle height changes due to replacement of suspension components or after performing such operations as removal and reinstallation or replacement of the rear height control sensor sub-assembly.
- If the vehicle is not equipped with the air suspension system, adjust the headlight aim after initializing the headlight swivel ECU (LandCruiser RM000003QVI02CX.html).
- When a malfunction is detected in the automatic headlight beam level control system, height control sensor signal initialization is impossible. Perform troubleshooting before initialization.
1.PREPARE VEHICLE FOR INITIALIZATION |
Unload the trunk and vehicle, making sure that the spare tire, tools and jack are in their original positions.
Check that there are no occupants in the vehicle.
Turn off the headlights.
Stop the vehicle on a level surface and keep the vehicle height unchanged.
2.CHECK AFS OFF INDICATOR LIGHT |
Turn the ignition switch to ON and check the warning light.
- OK:

Removal and reinstallation of the headlight swivel ECU, replacement of the rear height control sensor sub-assembly, removal and reinstallation of the rear height control sensor sub-assembly, replacement of the suspension, etc. has been performed.
| Indicator light comes on for approximately 3 seconds, and then goes off (bulb check function).
|
- HINT:
- If the warning light does not come on when turning the ignition switch to ON, inspect and repair it according to Problem Symptoms Table (LandCruiser RM000002CE20QHX.html).

- HINT:
- *: The number of times that the warning blinks is determined by the number of times the low beam headlights are turned on and off.
- If initialization cannot be finished normally, disconnect SST from the DLC3 and turn the ignition switch off. Then, restart from procedure 1.
