Back Door Glass (W/ Back Door Tire Carrier) -- Removal |
1. REMOVE BACK DOOR CENTER GARNISH |
Detach the 4 clips and remove the back door center garnish.

2. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH LH |
Detach the 2 clips and claw and remove the back door side garnish.

Detach the 2 clips and claw and remove the back door side garnish.

4. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM COVER |
Remove the back door trim cover as shown in the illustration.

5. REMOVE UPPER TOOL BOX PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the upper tool box panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

6. REMOVE TOOL CASE |
Detach the 2 claws and remove the tool case.

7. REMOVE BACK DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL (for Face to Face Seat Type) |
Remove the screw.

Detach the 5 claws and remove the back door inside handle bezel.
8. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY |
Detach the claw and remove the cover.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

Remove the screw.

w/o Back Door Tire Carrier:
Remove the bolt.
Detach the 15 clips and remove the back door trim panel assembly.
w/ Back Door Tire Carrier:
Remove the bolt.
Detach the 16 clips and remove the back door trim panel assembly.
for Face to Face Seat Type:
Remove the screw and bolt.
Detach the 15 clips and remove the back door trim panel assembly.
9. REMOVE BACK DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Face to Face Seat Type) |
Detach the guide.

Detach the claws and remove the inside handle sub-assembly.
Disconnect the 2 cables from the inside handle sub-assembly.
10. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER PAD |
Detach the 7 claws and move the wheel cover pad out of the way.

11. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER |
Remove the bolt.

Move the lever.
Detach the 8 claws and remove the spare wheel cover.

12. REMOVE SPARE TIRE |
13. REMOVE NO. 2 SPARE WHEEL COVER |
Remove the 4 screws and No. 2 spare wheel cover.

14. REMOVE REAR SPOILER COVER RH |

Detach the fastening tape and 5 clips and remove the rear No. 1 spoiler cover.

Remove the rear spoiler sub-assembly (LandCruiser RM0000038KG01IX_02_0010.html).
w/ Back Door Tire Carrier:
Remove the rear spoiler sub-assembly (LandCruiser RM0000038KG01HX_01_0002.html).
16. REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM |
Remove the nut and rear wiper arm.

Disconnect the washer hose and wiper motor connector.

Detach the 2 guides and remove the rear wiper motor.
18. REMOVE NO. 1 BACK WINDOW WIPER MOTOR BRACKET |
Using a clip remover, detach the clamp.

Remove the 3 bolts.
Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clips and remove the No. 1 back window wiper motor bracket.
19. REMOVE BACK WINDOW OUTSIDE MOULDING |
Using a knife, cut off the 2 outside mouldings as shown in the illustration.
- NOTICE:
- Do not damage the vehicle body with the knife.
- If the vehicle body is damaged, repair the damaged portion by applying an anti-rust coating after removing the back window glass assembly.

Remove the remaining outside moulding from the back door glass.
20. REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS |

Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches.
- NOTICE:
- When separating the back window glass from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the vehicle paint or interior/exterior ornaments.

Disconnect the connectors.
From the interior, insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and glass as shown in the illustration.

Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.
Cut off the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the back window glass.
- NOTICE:
- When separating the glass from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the vehicle paint or interior/exterior ornaments.
- Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the back window glass.
Place matchmarks over the glass and vehicle body at the locations indicated in the illustration.
- HINT:
- Matchmarks do not need to be placed if the glass is not going to be reused.

Using suction cups, remove the back door glass.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to drop the back door glass.

Using a scraper, remove the clip.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the back door glass.
- Be sure to replace the clip with new one.

Using a scraper, remove the 2 dams.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the back door glass.
- Be sure to replace the 2 dams with new ones.

Using a scraper, remove the outside moulding LH and RH.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the back door glass.
