ENGINE IMMOBILISER SYSTEM (w/ Entry and Start System) - Security Indicator Light Circuit


DESCRIPTION

  1. When the engine immobiliser system is set, the security indicator flashes continuously, but does not illuminate if the engine immobiliser system is not set.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Before replacing the certification ECU, refer to the Service Bulletin.
1.PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT)

  1. Check that the security indicator light illuminates when operating it with the Active Test (LandCruiser RM000002M6V05HX.html).

    		The test is possible when the following conditions are met:
    1. The key is in the cabin.
    2. The engine switch is on (IG).
    OK:
    Security indicator light can be turned on and off using the intelligent tester.

2.INSPECT SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the security indicator light assembly (LandCruiser RM00000478I00XX.html).

  1. Apply battery voltage between the terminals of the security indicator light assembly and check that the security indicator light illuminates.

    OK:
    Measurement Condition
    		Specified Condition
    Battery positive (+) → 2 (LP)
    Battery negative (-) → 5 (E)
    		Security indicator light illuminates

3.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT - CERTIFICATION ECU AND BODY GROUND)

  1. Disconnect the H23 light connector.

  1. Disconnect the G38 ECU connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Condition

    H23-2 (LP) - G38-2 (IND)
    		Always
    		Below 1 Ω
    H23-5 (E) - Body ground
    		Always
    		Below 1 Ω
    H23-2 (LP) or G38-2 (IND) - Body ground

    		10 kΩ or higher
