DESCRIPTION

Speeds signals are sent from the combination meter assembly to the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver.
DTC C2191/91 is stored only during the signal check.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
  1. When replacing the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver, read the transmitter IDs stored in the old ECU using the GTS and write them down before removal.
  2. It is necessary to perform initialization (LandCruiser RM000000XMZ0AOX.html) after registration (LandCruiser RM000000XN10DCX.html) of the transmitter IDs into the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver if the ECU has been replaced.
HINT:
When the speedometer needle is not moving, first troubleshoot the meter/gauge system (LandCruiser RM000002Z4L055X.html).
1.READ VALUE USING DATA LIST (VEHICLE SPEED)

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON.

  1. Turn the GTS on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Tire Pressure Monitor / Data List.

  1. Check that the values indicated on the GTS and on the combination meter assembly are the same.

2.CHECK DTC OUTPUT

  1. Clear the DTCs (LandCruiser RM000000XMX0CSX.html).

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON.

  1. Perform a driving test.

  1. Check for DTCs (LandCruiser RM000000XMX0CSX.html).

    HINT:
    The time required for DTC C2174 to be stored is 20 minutes.

CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS (LandCruiser RM000003YMJ00XX.html)

3.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECU - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY)

  1. Disconnect the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver R41 connector.

  1. Disconnect the combination meter assembly G6 connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:

    Tester Connection

    R41-2 (SPD) - G6-32 (+S)

    		Below 1 Ω
    R41-2 (SPD) or G6-32 (+S) - Body ground

4.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - SKID CONTROL ECU)

  1. Disconnect the A6*1 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) or A7*2 skid control ECU (master cylinder solenoid) connector.

    1. *1: for Vacuum Brake Booster
    2. *2: for Hydraulic Brake Booster

  1. Disconnect the combination meter assembly G6 connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:

    for Vacuum Brake Booster
    Tester Connection

    A6-11 (SP1) - G6-33 (SI)
    		Always
    		Below 1 Ω
    A6-11 (SP1) or G6-33 (SI) - Body ground

  1. Drive the vehicle at 20 km/h (12 mph) or more for 3 seconds or more to check the vehicle speed signal (C2191/91).
