  1. REMOVE TURBOCHARGER VANE CONTROL ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE TURBOCHARGER NOZZLE VANE CONTROL ACTUATOR

  5. REMOVE SEAL RING

Exhaust Manifold W/ Turbocharger -- Disassembly



1. REMOVE TURBOCHARGER VANE CONTROL ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Secure the flange of the turbine housing sub-assembly of the turbocharger sub-assembly in a vise between aluminum plates.

    NOTICE:
    Do not tighten the vise more than necessary, as doing so will damage the flange of the turbine housing sub-assembly.

  1. Remove the 2 E-washers from the variable nozzle vane motor assembly and turbocharger vane control link sub-assembly.

    NOTICE:
    Do not reuse the E-washer.

  1. Remove the turbocharger vane control rod sub-assembly.



2. REMOVE TURBOCHARGER NOZZLE VANE CONTROL ACTUATOR

  1. Remove the 3 bolts and turbocharger nozzle vane control actuator.



3. REMOVE TURBINE HOUSING

  1. Using a 10 mm union nut wrench, loosen the 5 bolts.

    HINT:
    Do not remove the bolts. Only loosen them by 360°.

  1. Remove the turbocharger sub-assembly from the vise and move it so the turbine housing is on top as shown in the illustration.

  1. Remove the 5 bolts, 5 spacers and turbine housing.

4. REMOVE TURBOCHARGER NOZZLE VANE PLATE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the turbocharger nozzle vane support plate from the turbocharger nozzle vane plate sub-assembly.

    HINT:
    If the turbocharger nozzle vane support plate is bent or twisted, replace it.

  1. Using a screwdriver, gradually pry to remove the turbocharger nozzle vane plate sub-assembly.

    		Prying Point
    NOTICE:
    1. Pry in the gap between the bearing housing and turbocharger nozzle vane plate sub-assembly shown in the illustration to remove the turbocharger nozzle vane plate.
    2. Make sure that parts do not fall, as the No. 2 turbocharger nozzle vane plate and turbocharger nozzle vane spacer shown in the illustration are not securely connected.


5. REMOVE SEAL RING

  1. Remove the seal ring from the compressor with bearing housing sub-assembly.

    NOTICE:
    Do not reuse the seal ring.


6. REMOVE TURBOCHARGER GASKET

  1. Remove the turbocharger gasket from the compressor with bearing housing sub-assembly.

    NOTICE:
    Do not reuse the turbocharger gasket.
