| 1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- NOTICE:
- After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (LandCruiser RM000003YMD00TX.html).
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (LandCruiser RM000003YMF011X.html).

for 60/40 Split Double-folding Seat Type LH Side:

for 60/40 Split Slide Walk-in Seat Type LH Side:

| 3. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER |
Remove the 3 screws and rear floor service hole cover.

Disconnect the fuel pump and sender gauge connector.

| 4. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL TANK PROTECTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY |
for Type A:
Remove the 6 bolts and No. 1 fuel tank protector sub-assembly.
for Type B:
Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 fuel tank protector sub-assembly.

Disconnect the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly (LandCruiser RM0000028RU05SX.html).

Disconnect the fuel return tube sub-assembly (LandCruiser RM0000028RU05SX.html).

| 7. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Double Tank Type) |
Disconnect fuel tank main tube sub-assembly (LandCruiser RM0000028RU05SX.html).

| 8. DISCONNECT FUEL CUT OFF TUBE (for Single Tank Type) |
Disconnect the fuel cut off tube (LandCruiser RM0000028RU05SX.html).
 |
| 9. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK BREATHER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Single Tank Type) |
Disconnect the fuel tank breather tube sub-assembly (LandCruiser RM0000028RU05SX.html).
 |
| 10. DISCONNECT NO. 4 FUEL MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY AND FUEL SUCTION TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Double Tank Type) |
Disconnect the No. 4 fuel main tube sub-assembly and fuel suction tube sub-assembly (LandCruiser RM0000028RU05SX.html).

| 11. DISCONNECT FUEL CUT OFF TUBE (for Double Tank Type) |
Disconnect the fuel cut off tube (LandCruiser RM0000028RU05SX.html).
 |
| 12. DISCONNECT FUEL RETURN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY AND NO. 2 FUEL MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Double Tank Type) |
Disconnect the fuel return tube sub-assembly and No. 2 fuel main tube sub-assembly (LandCruiser RM0000028RU05SX.html).

| 13. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK BREATHER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Double Tank Type) |
Disconnect the fuel tank breather tube sub-assembly (LandCruiser RM0000028RU05SX.html).
 |
| 14. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK TO FILLER PIPE HOSE |
Loosen the clamp and disconnect the fuel tank to filler pipe hose from the filler pipe.
 |
| 15. REMOVE FUEL TANK SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Place a transmission jack under the fuel tank sub-assembly.
Remove the 2 bolts, 2 clips, 2 pins and 2 fuel tank bands.
 |
Slowly lower the transmission jack slightly.
| 16. REMOVE FUEL TANK CUSHION |
Remove the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 fuel tank cushions from the fuel tank sub-assembly.

| 17. REMOVE FUEL RETURN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY AND FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Single Tank Type) |
Remove the 2 fuel tube joint clips and pull out the fuel return tube sub-assembly and fuel tank main tube sub-assembly.

Remove the 2 fuel tube joint clips and pull out the No. 4 fuel main tube sub-assembly and fuel suction tube sub-assembly.

Detach the clamp and remove the No. 4 fuel main tube from the fuel tank sub-assembly.

Detach the clamp and remove the fuel suction tube sub-assembly from the fuel tank sub-assembly.
| 19. REMOVE FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY, FUEL RETURN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY AND NO. 2 FUEL MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Double Tank Type) |
Remove the 3 fuel tube joint clips and pull out the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly, fuel return tube sub-assembly and No. 2 fuel main tube sub-assembly.

Detach the clamp and remove the No. 2 fuel main tube sub-assembly from the fuel tank sub-assembly.

Detach the clamp and remove the fuel return tube sub-assembly from the fuel tank sub-assembly.
Remove the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly from the fuel tank sub-assembly.
| 20. REMOVE FUEL TANK VENT TUBE ASSEMBLY (for Single Tank Type) |
Set SST on the retainer.
- SST
- 09808-14030
- HINT:
- Engage the claws of SST securely with the retainer holes to secure SST.
- Install SST while pressing the claws of SST against the retainer (towards the center of SST).

Using SST, loosen the retainer.

Turn - HINT:
- Fit the tips of SST onto the ribs of the retainer.
- NOTICE:
- When the retainer is loosened, be careful as the fuel tank vent tube assembly will spring upward from the force of the spring.
- Remove any foreign matter around the fuel tank vent tube assembly before this operation.

Remove the retainer.
Remove the fuel tank vent tube assembly from the fuel tank sub-assembly.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to bend the arm of the fuel sender gauge assembly.
Remove the gasket from the fuel tank sub-assembly.
| 21. REMOVE FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP AND GAUGE TUBE ASSEMBLY (for Double Tank Type) |
Set the 4 claws and plate of SST on the retainer.

- Securely insert the ends of SST into the insertion points in the retainer.

- Remove any foreign matter around the fuel suction with pump and gauge tube assembly before this operation.

Remove the retainer.
Remove the fuel suction with pump and gauge tube assembly from the fuel tank sub-assembly.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to bend the arm of the fuel sender gauge assembly.
Remove the gasket from the fuel tank sub-assembly.
| 22. REMOVE NO. 3 FUEL TANK PROTECTOR |
Remove the 2 bolts.
 |
Detach the 4 clamps and remove the No. 3 fuel tank protector.
| 23. REMOVE FUEL TANK TO FILLER PIPE HOSE |
Loosen the clamp and remove the fuel tank to filler pipe hose from the fuel tank sub-assembly.
