READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (STARTER SIGNAL)
CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STARTER RELAY (ST) - ECM)
ECD SYSTEM - Starter Signal Circuit |
DESCRIPTION
While the engine is being cranked, current flows from terminal ST1 of the ignition switch assembly*1 or terminal STAR of the power management control ECU*2 to the park/neutral position switch assembly*3 or clutch pedal switch assembly (for Clutch Start System)*4 and also flows to terminal STA of the ECM (STA Signal).*1: w/o Entry and Start System
*2: w/ Entry and Start System
*3: for Automatic Transmission
*4: for Manual Transmission
WIRING DIAGRAM
Refer to DTC P0617 (LandCruiser RM000000TA01KAX_05.html).INSPECTION PROCEDURE
- NOTICE:
- Inspect the fuses of circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
- After replacing the ECM, the new ECM needs registration (LandCruiser RM0000012XK0ARX.html) and initialization (LandCruiser RM000000TIN08CX.html).
- HINT:
- This chart is based on the premise that the engine can crank normally. If the engine cannot crank normally, proceed to Problem Symptoms Table (LandCruiser RM0000012WF0ABX.html).

2.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STARTER RELAY (ST) - ECM) |
Remove the ST relay from the engine room relay block.
Disconnect the ECM connectors.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition ST relay terminal 2 - G57-6 (STA) Always Below 1 Ω ST relay terminal 2 or G57-6 (STA) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
Reinstall the starter relay (ST).
Reconnect the ECM connectors.
