Trouble Area
Accelerate vehicle with accelerator depressed halfway or more starting from a speed of 120 km/h (75 mph) or more for 2 minutes (make sure gear is fixed and does not change)
The pressure is 55 kPa below the Target Booster Pressure for 40 seconds at an engine speed of 2800 to 4400 rpm (2 trip detection logic)*1 (1 trip detection logic)*2.
  1. Turbocharger sub-assembly
  2. Extremely low battery voltage (P0560 output simultaneously)
  3. Disconnected pipe between turbo and intake manifold
  4. Disconnected manifold absolute pressure sensor hose
  5. Throttle valve stuck closed
  6. Electric EGR control valve assembly does not close
  7. Exhaust system or intake system modified (leading to increased pressure loss, etc.)
  8. Manifold absolute pressure sensor
  9. Injection system (reduction in fuel injection volume)
  10. ECM

HINT:
  1. If DTC P0299 is stored due to the variable nozzle being stuck open, the following symptoms may appear:
    1. Lack of power
    2. Vehicle surge or hesitation under light or medium load

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT:
Read freeze frame data using the intelligent tester. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
NOTICE:
After replacing the ECM, the new ECM needs registration (LandCruiser RM0000012XK0ARX.html) and initialization (LandCruiser RM000000TIN08CX.html).
HINT:
Comparison of the data list items manifold absolute pressure and target booster pressure during acceleration under medium to high engine speeds can be used to determine the state of the problem.

  1. Check for intake and exhaust system modifications.

    No modifications.

3.INSPECT TURBOCHARGER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Check the turbocharger sub-assembly (LandCruiser RM000003TBT01VX.html).

    HINT:
    Check if the VN is stuck, if there are abnormal noises from the turbo (impeller is damaged), if there is turbo shaft rattle, and if the turbo shaft does not rotate smoothly.

  1. Read the value.

8.READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (INJECTION FEEDBACK VAL #1 TO #4)

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the tester on.

  1. Start the engine and warm it up.

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Injection Feedback Val #1 to #4.

  1. Read the values.

    Standard Value:
    The compensatory injection volume is less than 3.0 mm3/st
    HINT:
    1. If the injector assembly is malfunctioning, the compensatory injection volume remains at 5.0 mm3/st.
    2. If there is a disconnection, the feedback value will increase and +5.0 mm3/st will be indicated, because it will become impossible for the injector assembly to inject.

  1. Start the engine and warm it up.

  1. Accelerate the vehicle with the accelerator depressed halfway or more starting from a speed of 120 km/h (75 mph) or more for 2 minutes (make sure the gear is fixed and does not change).

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / DTC / Pending.

  1. Read the DTCs.
