High Intensity Discharge Headlight Bulb Removal


  1. PRECAUTION

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  3. REMOVE HEADLIGHT CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  4. REMOVE DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT BULB

High Intensity Discharge Headlight Bulb -- Removal


CAUTION:
Make sure that the headlight control ECU sub-assembly LH is not connected or hot before removing the headlight control ECU sub-assembly.
HINT:
  1. Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
  2. The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


1. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Toyota Fortuner RM000000UYX010X.html).


2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Toyota Fortuner RM000004W63000X.html).


3. REMOVE HEADLIGHT CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50
  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. Turn the headlight control ECU sub-assembly LH in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration and remove the headlight control ECU sub-assembly LH.

    NOTICE:
    Make sure that the headlight control ECU sub-assembly LH is not connected or hot before removing the headlight control ECU sub-assembly LH.


    Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50
  1. Turn the headlight control ECU sub-assembly LH socket in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration and disconnect the headlight control ECU sub-assembly LH socket.

    NOTICE:
    Do not pull the headlight control ECU sub-assembly LH while the socket is connected.


4. REMOVE DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT BULB


    Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50
  1. Release the set spring lock as shown in the illustration and remove the discharge headlight bulb.
