INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT:
After replacing the headlight leveling ECU, initialization of the ECU is necessary (Toyota Fortuner RM000002CE402CX.html).
1.PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR)

  1. Using the intelligent tester, perform the Active Test (Toyota Fortuner RM000000PKV08JX.html).

PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (Toyota Fortuner RM000002CE208UX.html)

2.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT UNIT - HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY)

  1. Disconnect the H17 headlight leveling ECU connector.

  1. Disconnect the H23*1 or H22*2 headlight leveling motor connector.

    1. *1: for LH
    2. *2: for RH

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  1. Temporarily replace the headlight unit (headlight leveling motor) with a new or normally functioning one (Toyota Fortuner RM000001H5J01WX.html).

  1. Perform the Active Test of the leveling motors.

    OK:
    Headlight leveling motors operate normally.
