Brake Pedal (W/O Vsc) -- Removal |
| 1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
- NOTICE:
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Toyota Fortuner RM000004W63000X.html).
| 2. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY |
Remove the combination meter (Toyota Fortuner RM000000THS01WX.html).
| 3. DISCONNECT BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS |
Disconnect the stop light switch connector.
Remove the return spring.
 |
Remove the clip and clevis pin.
Disconnect the push rod clevis from the brake pedal.
| 4. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY |
for 1KD-FTV, 2KD-FTV and 5L-E with Manual Transmission:
Detach the connector clamp and clamp from the brake pedal support sub-assembly.

Remove the bolt from the support.
 |
Remove the 4 nuts and support.
 |
