INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (SKID CONTROL BUZZER)

INSPECT SKID CONTROL BUZZER (POWER SOURCE TERMINAL)

INSPECT SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSEMBLY

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - SKID CONTROL BUZZER)

DESCRIPTION

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:

When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration (Toyota Fortuner RM000000XHR02TX.html).

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
   

2. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
   

3. Start the engine.
   

4. Turn the intelligent tester on.
   

5. Select the Active Test mode on the intelligent tester (Toyota Fortuner RM000000XHW03RX.html).
   
   

   ABS/VSC/TRC

6. Check that the buzzer sounds/stops when turning the skid control buzzer on/off using the intelligent tester.
   

   Result

   HINT:

   If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step (Toyota Fortuner RM000000XHN03SX.html).

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
   

2. Disconnect the skid control buzzer connector.
   

3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
   

   Standard Voltage:

   Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
   S26-2 (IG1) - Body ground	Ignition switch ON	11 to 14 V

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
   

2. Remove the skid control buzzer (Toyota Fortuner RM000001WYY016X.html).
   

3. Connect the negative (-) battery terminal to terminal 1 (BZ) of the skid control buzzer, and the positive (+) battery terminal to terminal 2 (IG1), and then check that the buzzer sounds.
   

   OK:

   The skid control buzzer sounds.
   

1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
   

2. Disconnect the skid control buzzer connector.
   

3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
   

   Standard Resistance:

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   S25-21 (BZ) - S26-1 (BZ)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   S25-21 (BZ) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   HINT:

   If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the part (Toyota Fortuner RM000000XHN03SX.html).
