Rear Lower Control Arm Installation


  1. TEMPORARILY INSTALL LOWER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH

  2. CONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

  3. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

  4. STABILIZE SUSPENSION

  5. TIGHTEN LOWER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH

Rear Lower Control Arm -- Installation


HINT:
  1. Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
  2. The procedures listed below are for the LH side.


1. TEMPORARILY INSTALL LOWER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Temporarily install the lower arm with the 2 bolts and 2 nut.

    HINT:
    While fixing the nuts in place, tighten the bolts.


2. CONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

  1. Install the cable with the 4 bolts and nut as shown in the illustration.

    Torque:
    25.5 N*m{260 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf}

  1. Install the No. 3 clip as shown in the illustration.

  1. Connect the cable to the parking brake shoe lever LH and backing plate LH.

    1. Connect the cable to the backing plate with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      9.0 N*m{92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf}

    2. Connect the cable to the lever (Toyota Fortuner RM000001HJY005X.html).



3. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque:
105 N*m{1,071 kgf*cm, 77 ft.*lbf}


4. STABILIZE SUSPENSION

  1. Lower the vehicle.

  1. Press down on the vehicle several time to stabilize the suspension.



5. TIGHTEN LOWER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Tighten the 2 bolts.

    Torque:
    145 N*m{1,479 kgf*cm, 107 ft.*lbf}
    HINT:
    While fixing the nuts in place, tighten the bolts.
