Clutch Master Cylinder -- Removal |
1. DRAIN CLUTCH FLUID |
Drain brake fluid (Toyota Fortuner RM000001FSF001X.html).
2. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL NO.1 |

- HINT:
- To prevent the clips from falling, horizontally pull out the panel. Hold both sides of the panel in the locations indicated by the arrows in the illustration.
Remove the screw <C>.
Detach the 6 claws and 4 clips.
- NOTICE:
- Make sure the center registers are not removed.
Disconnect all connectors and remove the panel.
3. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY |

- NOTICE:
- There are 2 types of combination meters. One type has a 40 pin connector and 16 pin connector. The other type only has a 40 pin connector.
Remove the 3 screws.
Disconnect all connectors and remove the combination meter.
4. DISCONNECT CLUTCH RESERVOIR HOSE |

Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip, slide the clip and disconnect the clutch reservoir hose.
- HINT:
- Use a container to catch the fluid.
5. DISCONNECT CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER TO FLEXIBLE HOSE TUBE |

Using SST, disconnect the flexible tube.

6. REMOVE CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY |
Remove the clutch pedal (Toyota Fortuner RM000001FS4001X.html).
Remove the 2 nuts, clutch master cylinder and gasket.
