READ DATA LIST
HINT:
Using the intelligent tester's Data List allows switch, sensor, actuator, and other item values to be read without removing any parts. Reading the Data List early in troubleshooting is one way to save time.
NOTICE:
In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.
  1. Warm up the engine.

  2. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

  3. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  4. Turn the ignition switch ON.

  5. Turn the intelligent tester ON.

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST
HINT:
Performing the intelligent tester's Active Test allows relay, VSV, actuator and other items to be operated without removing any parts. Performing the Active Test early in troubleshooting is one way to save time.
The Data List can be displayed during the Active Test.
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  2. Turn the ignition switch ON.

  3. Turn the intelligent tester ON.

  4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test.

  5. Perform the Active Test.

    Control the Line Pressure Up*
Operate shift solenoid valve SLT and raise line pressure
    ON or OFF
    HINT:
OFF: Line pressure up (when Active Test "Control the Line Pressure Up" is performed, ECM commands shift solenoid valve SLT to turn OFF)
    ON: No action (normal operation)
    [Vehicle Condition]
    1. The vehicle is stopped.
    2. The engine is idling.
    Control the Lock Up
Control shift solenoid valve SLU to set automatic transmission to lock-up condition
    ON or OFF
It is possible to check the shift solenoid valve SLU operation.
    [Vehicle Condition]
    1. The throttle valve opening angle is less than 35%.
    2. The vehicle speed is 60 km/h (36 mph) or more.
    Control the Shift Position
Operate shift solenoid valve and set each shift position
    1. Press "→" button: Shift up
    2. Press "←" button: Shift down
It is possible to check the operation of the shift solenoid valves.
    [Vehicle Condition]
The vehicle speed is 50 km/h (30 mph) or less.

    HINT:
*: "Control the Line Pressure Up" in the Active Test is performed to check the line pressure changes by connecting SST to the automatic transmission, which is used in the Hydraulic Test (Toyota Fortuner RM000000W7B0L2X.html) as well. Please note that the pressure values in the Active Test and Hydraulic Test are different.
