Ignition Switch Removal


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER LOWER

  3. DISCONNECT CONNECTOR

  4. REMOVE IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

Ignition Switch -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag activation.


2. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER LOWER


    Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50.5L-E Starting.Ignition Switch.Ignition Switch  Removal
  1. Remove the 3 screws and cover lower.

    HINT:
    Turn the steering wheel to the right and left as necessary to remove the 3 screws and cover lower.


3. DISCONNECT CONNECTOR


    Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50.5L-E Starting.Ignition Switch.Ignition Switch  Removal
  1. Disconnect the 9 connectors and wire harness clamps from the steering column.



4. REMOVE IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the switch from the steering column bracket upper.
