Raise the front of the V-bank cover to detach the 2 pins. Then remove the 2 V-bank cover hooks from the bracket, and remove the V-bank cover.

When the engine switch is turned on (IG), the IG power source circuit supplies positive (+) voltage to the power steering ECU.

The power steering ECU is connected to the combination meter via CAN communication. If the power steering ECU detects a malfunction, the power steering warning light comes on. At this time, the vehicle enters fail-safe mode.

Visually check the belt for excessive wear, frayed cords, etc.

If any defect is found, replace the drive belt.

The power steering ECU receives VGRS relative angle signal from the steering control ECU via CAN communication. The power steering ECU provides appropriate assisting force in accordance with the VGRS relative angle signal.

The power steering ECU receives steering angle signals from the steering angle sensor via CAN communication. The power steering ECU provides appropriate assisting force in accordance with the steering angle signal.

This circuit supplies electric power to the power steering solenoid valve.

The power steering ECU controls the output current to the power steering solenoid valve in accordance with the steering angle signal, VGRS relative angle signal, steering zero point memory, vehicle speed signal and engine speed signal, adjusting the amount of power steering assist.

The power steering ECU receives engine speed signals from the ECM via CAN communication. The power steering ECU provides appropriate assisting force in accordance with the engine speed signal.

The power steering ECU receives signals from the ECM, steering angle sensor, skid control ECU and steering control ECU via the CAN communication system.
