Front Seat Assembly (For Power Seat) Reassembly

Install the front seatback spring with the 4 bolts.

Torque:

42 N*m{428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf}

Install the front seatback with the 4 bolts.

Torque:

42 N*m{428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf}

Attach the 2 wire harness clamps.

Attach the claw to connect the connector.

w/o Front Seat Side Airbag:
Attach the 2 wire harness clamps to install the seat wire.

w/ Front Seat Side Airbag:

1. Attach the 2 wire harness clamps.
   

2. Connect the connector to install the seat wire.
   

Attach the 2 claws to install the seat wire.

Attach the wire harness clamp.

Connect the connector.

Attach the 4 claws to install the lower seat cushion shield.

Install the screw.

Attach the 4 claws to install the lower seat cushion shield.

Install the screw.

Using a 4 mm socket hexagon wrench, install the motor with the 2 bolts.

Torque:

2.5 N*m{25 kgf*cm, 22 in.*lbf}

Clean the threads of the "TORX" bolt for the adjust screw with non-residue solvent (when reusing the "TORX" bolt).

Apply adhesive to the threads of the "TORX" bolt for the adjust screw (when reusing the "TORX" bolt).

Adhesive:

Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent

Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, install the "TORX" bolt.

Torque:

25 N*m{255 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf}

Connect the connector.

Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, install the tilt rod with the 2 "TORX" bolts for the tilt rod.

Torque:

25 N*m{255 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf}

Install the nut.

Install the seat cushion frame with the 4 bolts.

Torque:

19 N*m{194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf}

Attach the 4 clamps indicated by the arrows in the illustration to install the seat cushion spring.

w/o Front Seat Side Airbag:
Attach the 2 wire harness clamps.

w/ Front Seat Side Airbag:
Attach the 3 wire harness clamps.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to damage the airbag wire harness or connector.

Install the slide cable.

NOTICE:

Make sure that the cable is correctly inserted into the motor.

Install the front power seat motor assembly with slide cable to the slide screws.

NOTICE:

1. Make sure that the slide rail is locked in the rearmost position.
   
2. If the serrations on the slide screw and front power seat motor assembly with slide cable do not align, grip the slide screw with needle-nose pliers and install the front power seat motor assembly with slide cable while slightly moving the slide screw. In these cases, do not turn the slide screw 90° or more.
   
3. Do not apply excessive force to the slide cable (do not bend the slide cable 60° or more).
   

Using a 4 mm socket hexagon wrench, install the 4 bolts.

Torque:

1.6 N*m{16 kgf*cm, 14 in.*lbf}

Using a 5 mm socket hexagon wrench, install the 2 bolts.

Torque:

5.0 N*m{51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf}

Install the new 2 nuts.

Torque:

2.5 N*m{25 kgf*cm, 22 in.*lbf}

Attach the claw to connect the connector to seat frame.

Connect the positive (+) battery terminal to terminal 2 of the power seat motor and the negative (-) battery terminal to terminal 1, and then slide the seat and align the matchmarks.

Check that the matchmarks are aligned on both sides.
If the matchmarks are not aligned, check the installation condition of the power seat motor assembly, and remove and reinstall the power seat motor assembly if necessary.

Connect the connector.

Install the seat cushion frame with the 4 bolts.

Torque:

19 N*m{194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf}

Attach the 4 clamps indicated by the arrows in the illustration to install the seat cushion spring.

w/o Front Seat Side Airbag:
Attach the 2 wire harness clamps.

w/ Front Seat Side Airbag:
Attach the 3 wire harness clamps.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to damage the airbag wire harness or connector.

Temporarily install the power seat motor with the 3 bolts.

Install the reclining rod.

Attach the 6 claws to install the push nut to the reclining rod.

Using a 4 mm socket hexagon wrench, tighten the 3 bolts.

Torque:

4.5 N*m{46 kgf*cm, 40 in.*lbf}

Attach the 8 hooks to install the seatback spring.

Connect the connector.

Attach the guide to install the reclining adjuster inside cover.

Install the screw.

Attach the claw to install the reclining adjuster inside cover.

Install the screw.

Attach the guide to install the reclining adjuster inside cover.

Install the screw.

Attach the claw to install the reclining adjuster inside cover.

Install the screw.

Install the seatback cloth.

Install the seatback pad.

Using hog ring pliers, attach the strap of the seatback cover to the seatback pad with new hog rings.

NOTICE:

1. Be careful not to damage the cover.
   
2. When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.
   

Attach the 4 claws to install the 2 headrest supports.

Using hog ring pliers, install the upper part of the seatback cover to the seatback pad with new hog rings.

NOTICE:

1. Be careful not to damage the cover.
   
2. When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.
   

Using hog ring pliers, install the center of the seatback cover to the seatback pad with new hog rings.

NOTICE:

1. Be careful not to damage the cover.
   
2. When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.
   

w/ Front Seat Side Airbag:
Attach the front seatback cover bracket and install the nut.

Torque:

5.5 N*m{56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf}

Using hog ring pliers, attach the strap of the seatback cover to the seatback frame with new hog rings.

NOTICE:

1. Be careful not to damage the cover.
   
2. When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.
   

Using hog ring pliers, attach the bottom of the seatback cloth to the seatback frame with new hog rings.

Using hog ring pliers, attach the wires at the bottom of the seatback cover with new hog rings.

NOTICE:

1. Be careful not to damage the cover.
   
2. When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.
   

Using hog ring pliers, install the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion pad with new hog rings.

NOTICE:

1. Be careful not to damage the cover.
   
2. When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.
   

Attach the hooks to install the seat cushion cover with pad.

Using hog ring pliers, attach the rubber bands of the seatback cover to the seat frame with new hog rings.

NOTICE:

1. Be careful not to damage the cover.
   
2. When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.
   

Install the seat cushion cover.

Install the buckle cover.

Install the front seat inner belt assembly with the nut.

Torque:

42 N*m{428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf}

NOTICE:

Do not allow the anchor part of the front seat inner belt assembly to overlap the protruding part of the front seat adjuster.

Connect the connector and attach the 3 clamps.

Pass the wire harness of the front seat inner belt assembly below the claw and into the front seat cushion inner shield.

Attach the claw to temporarily install the cushion inner shield.

NOTICE:

Make sure that the wire harness of the front seat inner belt assembly is not being pinched inside the front seat cushion inner shield.

Attach the guide and claw.

NOTICE:

Make sure that the wire harness of the front seat inner belt assembly is not being pinched inside the front seat cushion inner shield.

Install the screw to the cushion inner shield.

Connect the connector.

Install the switch with the 3 screws.

Attach the 2 claws to install the cushion shield.

Install the 2 screws.

Attach the claw and guide to install the cushion shield.

Install the 3 screws.

Install the 2 screws.

Attach the 4 claws to install the knob.

Attach the 2 claws to install the knob.
