Transponder Key Amplifier Removal


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN LOWER COVER

  3. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN UPPER COVER

  4. REMOVE TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER

Transponder Key Amplifier -- Removal


HINT:
  1. Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.
  2. The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.


1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Toyota Fortuner RM000004W63000X.html).


2. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN LOWER COVER


    Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50
  1. Remove the 3 screws and lower cover.



3. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN UPPER COVER
  1. Detach the claw and remove the upper cover.



4. REMOVE TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER


    Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50.Engine Immobiliser.Transponder Key Amplifier.Transponder Key Amplifier  Removal
  1. Using a screwdriver, widen the claw attached to the upper bracket by approximately 1.0 mm (0.039 in.).

  1. Pull out the transponder key amplifier with the claw open.

  1. Disconnect the connector and transponder key amplifier.
