DTC 41 Air Mix Damper Control Servo Motor Circuit (Passenger Side)


DESCRIPTION

The air mix damper servo sub-assembly sends pulse signals to inform the air conditioning amplifier assembly of the air mix control damper position. The air conditioning amplifier assembly activates the motor (normal or reverse) based on the signals to move the air mix control damper to any position. As a result, the air mix control damper varies the mixture of hot air from the heater core and cold air from the evaporator so that the temperature of the air blowing toward the driver and front passenger side is as requested.
HINT:
This DTC is also output if the damper and damper link are malfunctioning or unable to move properly. When this DTC is output, confirm that the mechanical parts of the damper and damper link are not defective or damaged.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.PERFORM ACTUATOR CHECK

  1. Warm up the engine.

  1. Enter actuator check mode (Toyota Fortuner RM000003R7I00HX.html).

  1. Place your hand in front of a vent and check that the air mix control damper position changes (the temperature of the air changes) according to the display code.

2.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR MIX DAMPER SERVO - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER)

  1. Disconnect the D15 air mix damper servo sub-assembly connector.

  1. Disconnect the A38 and A37 air conditioning amplifier assembly connectors.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  1. Temporally replace the air mix damper servo sub-assembly with a new or normally functioning one (Toyota Fortuner RM0000012JQ01LX.html).

  1. Check the air mix control damper operates normally.

    OK:
    Air mix control damper operates normally.
