Roof Headlining -- Removal |
| 1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
| 2. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT ASSEMBLY |
Remove the seat (Toyota Fortuner RM000001DOK002X.html).
| 3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH |
Using a screwdriver, detach the 7 claws.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

Using a clip remover, detach the 3 clips and remove the scuff plate.

Remove the cap nut.

Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clips and remove the trim board.

Using a screwdriver, detach the 7 claws.

Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clips and remove the scuff plate.

Disconnect the front seat outer belt anchor's built-in bolt.
Detach the 2 claws and remove the lap belt outer anchor cover.
Disconnect the anchor's built-in bolt from the pillar.
Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws.

Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clips and remove the garnish.

Disconnect the front seat outer belt's shoulder anchor.
Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the seat belt anchor cover cap.

Remove the bolt and disconnect the shoulder anchor.
Using a clip remover, detach the clip.

Pull the garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the claw. Then remove the garnish.

Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and pry out the 2 assist grip plugs.

- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

Remove the 2 screws and assist grip.
| 18. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH |
Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clips.
 |
Pull the garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the 2 claws. Then remove the garnish.

Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws.

Using a clip remover, detach the 6 clips and remove the scuff plate.
| 21. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM JACK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Disconnect the rear No. 1 seat belt outer anchor.
Detach the 2 claws and remove the lap belt outer anchor cover.
Remove the bolt and disconnect the anchor.

Disconnect the rear No. 2 seat belt outer anchor.
Detach the 2 claws and remove the lap belt outer anchor cover.
Remove the bolt and disconnect the anchor.
Remove the screw and quarter trim hook.
Using a clip remover, remove the clip labeled A.

Using a screwdriver, detach the 6 claws.

- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Using a clip remover, detach the 10 clips and remove the trim board.
Disconnect the power point socket connector.
Remove the 2 belt hangers.

Detach the 2 claw fittings and remove the socket.
| 24. REMOVE COOLER CONTROL SWITCH KNOB |
Using a screwdriver, remove the knob from the control switch.

| 25. REMOVE QUARTER INSIDE TRIM BOARD RH |
Disconnect the rear No. 1 seat belt outer anchor.
Detach the 2 claws and remove the lap belt outer anchor cover.
Remove the bolt and disconnect the anchor.

Disconnect the rear No. 2 seat belt outer anchor.
Detach the 2 claws and remove the lap belt outer anchor cover.
Remove the bolt and disconnect the anchor.
Remove the screw and quarter trim hook.
Using a clip remover, remove the clip labeled A.

Using a screwdriver, detach the 6 claws.

Using a clip remover, detach the 10 clips and remove the trim board.
Disconnect the cooler control switch connector.
Remove the 2 belt hangers.

Detach the clamp.

Remove the 2 screws and control switch.
| 27. REMOVE AIR OUTLET REGISTER RH |
Remove the 5 screws.

Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the register.

Disconnect the rear No. 1 seat belt outer shoulder anchor.
Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the seat belt anchor cover as shown in the illustration.

- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Remove the bolt and disconnect the shoulder anchor.
Using a clip remover, detach the 9 clips and remove the garnish.

Remove the bolt and disconnect the shoulder anchor.
Using a clip remover, remove the clip labeled A.

Using a clip remover, detach the clip and remove the garnish.

Pull the map light toward the vehicle's front and remove the map light as shown in the illustration.
Disconnect the light connector.

Using a screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, detach the 4 claws and remove the lens.

Remove the tape and wire harness.
