Quarter Window Glass Installation

Using a brush or sponge, apply Primer M to the exposed part of the vehicle body.

NOTICE:

1. Allow the primer coating to dry for 3 minutes or more.
   
2. Throw away any leftover primer.
   
3. Do not apply too much primer.
   

Install a new spacer to the vehicle body.

Using a brush or sponge, apply primer G to the contact surface of a new quarter window glass.

HINT:

If primer is applied to an area that is specified, wipe off the primer with non-residue solvent before it dries.

NOTICE:

1. Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more.
   
2. Throw away any leftover primer.
   
3. Do not apply too much primer.
   

Apply adhesive to the quarter window glass.

Adhesive:

Toyota Genuine Windshield Glass Adhesive or equivalent

1. Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle as shown in the illustration.
   
   

   
   
   
   

   Standard measurement:

   Area	Specified Condition
   a	12.0 mm (0.472 in.)
   b	8.0 mm (0.315 in.)
   c	13.0 mm (0.512 in.)
   d	12.7 mm (0.500 in.)

   HINT:

   After cutting off the tip, use all adhesive within the time written in the table below.

   Usage time frame:

   Temperature	Usage Time Frame
   35°C (95°F)	15 minutes
   20°C (68°F)	1 hour 40 minutes
   5°C (41°F)	8 hours

2. Load the sealer gun with the cartridge.
   

3. Apply adhesive to the quarter window glass as shown in the illustration.
   

Install the quarter window glass to the vehicle body.

1. Hold the quarter window glass in place securely with protective tape or equivalent until the adhesive hardens.
   

   NOTICE:

   1. Allow the primer coating to dry for 3 minutes or more.
      
   2. Check that the clips are attached to the body correctly.
      
   3. Check the clearance between the body and glass.
      

2. Lightly press the front surface of the glass to ensure a close fit.
   





3. Using a scraper, remove any excess or protruding adhesive.
   

   HINT:

   Apply adhesive onto the glass rim.

   NOTICE:

   Do not drive the vehicle within the time written in the table below.

   Minimum time:

   Temperature	Minimum time prior to driving vehicle
   35°C (95°F)	1 hour 30 minutes
   20°C (68°F)	5 hours
   5°C (41°F)	24 hours

Install the 6 packings to the roof headlining.

Align the wire harness to the markings, and then install the wire harness with tape.

NOTICE:

Attach the roof wire harness securely.

Install the headlining with the 9 clips.

Connect the light connector.

Install the room light with the 2 screws.

Attach the 4 claws to install the lens

Install the assist grip with the 2 screws.

Attach the 4 claws to install the 2 assist grip plugs.

Install the 2 belt hangers to the trim board.

Connect the cooler control switch connector.

Attach the 10 clips and 6 claws to install the trim board.

Install the clip labeled A.

Install the quarter trim hook with the screw.

Connect the rear No. 1 seat belt outer anchor.

1. Connect the anchor with the bolt.
   

   Torque:

   42 N*m{428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf}

2. Attach the 2 claws to install the lap belt outer anchor cover.
   

Connect the rear No. 2 seat belt outer anchor.

1. Connect the anchor with the bolt.
   

   Torque:

   42 N*m{428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf}

2. Attach the 2 claws to install the lap belt outer anchor cover.
   

Connect the seat belt's floor anchor with the bolt.

Torque:

42 N*m{428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf}

Install the belt outer anchor cover.

Connect the seat belt's floor anchor with the bolt.

Torque:

42 N*m{428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf}

Install the belt outer anchor cover.

Attach the 6 clips and 4 claws to install the scuff plate.

Fully tilt the seatback forward.

Place the seat onto the lock striker.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

Tighten the bolt on the rear side of the seat.

Torque:

37 N*m{377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf}

Tighten the bolt on the front side of the seat.

Torque:

37 N*m{377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf}

Fully lock the seat to the lock striker.

HINT:

Confirm that the seat is firmly locked to the lock striker.

Attach the hook to install the bracket cover.

Install the screw.

Return the seatback to the upright position.

Attach the hook to install the bracket cover.

Install the screw.

Conduct a leak test after the adhesive has completely hardened.

Seal any leaks with auto glass sealer.
