Starter (For Denso Made) Disassembly

Remove the nut and disconnect the lead wire from terminal C.

Remove the 2 bolts and 2 O-rings.

Pull out the starter yoke with the armature.

Remove the O-ring from the starter yoke.

Remove the 2 screws and magnet starter switch assembly.

Remove the return spring.

Remove the pinion gear, idler gear, clutch roller, retainer and starter clutch assembly from the starter drive housing.

Using a magnet hand, remove the steel ball from the clutch shaft hole.

Remove the O-ring from the starter drive end housing.

Disconnect the 4 starter yoke brushes from the brush holder.

1. Using a screwdriver, pull back the spring.
   

2. Disconnect the brush from the brush holder.
   

Remove the brush holder from the starter yoke.

Using a plastic-faced hammer, tap the end of the starter yoke to remove the starter armature from the starter yoke.
