Ventilation Valve Removal


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER

  3. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK

  4. REMOVE VENTILATION VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY

Ventilation Valve -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.


2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER
  1. Remove the 2 nuts and cover.



3. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK

  1. Disconnect the No. 5 water by-pass hose.

  1. Disconnect the No. 4 water by-pass hose.

  1. Disconnect the purge line hose.

  1. Disconnect the No. 1 ventilation hose.

  1. Disconnect the purge VSV connector.

  1. Disconnect the VSV connector (for ACIS).

  1. Disconnect the throttle position sensor and control motor connector.

  1. Remove the 3 wire harness clamps and hose clamp.

  1. Remove the 3 upper bolts which are used to secure the 2 surge tank stays and throttle body bracket.

  1. Using an 8 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 4 bolts.

  1. Remove the 2 nuts, intake air surge tank and gasket.



4. REMOVE VENTILATION VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the ventilation hose from the valve.

  1. Remove the valve.
