Vane Pump (For 1Gr-Fe) Removal


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE FAN & GENERATOR V BELT

  3. DRAIN POWER STEERING FLUID

  4. DISCONNECT OIL RESERVOIR TO PUMP HOSE

  5. DISCONNECT PRESSURE FEED TUBE ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY

Vane Pump (For 1Gr-Fe) -- Removal


NOTICE:
When using a vise, do not overtighten it.


1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.


2. REMOVE FAN & GENERATOR V BELT

  1. While releasing the belt tension by turning the belt tensioner counterclockwise, remove the V-ribbed belt from the belt tensioner.



3. DRAIN POWER STEERING FLUID


4. DISCONNECT OIL RESERVOIR TO PUMP HOSE

  1. Disengage the clip and disconnect the hose.



5. DISCONNECT PRESSURE FEED TUBE ASSEMBLY


Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50
  1. Remove the union bolt, then disconnect the pressure feed tube.

  1. Remove the gasket from the pressure feed tube.



6. REMOVE VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the oil pressure switch connector.

  1. Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and vane pump.
