Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly Removal


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE

  3. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.


2. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE

  1. Remove the 2 screws.

  1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

  1. Pull the radiator grille in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the 6 claws and remove the radiator grille.



3. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

  1. w/ Hood courtesy switch:
    Detach the clamp and disconnect the connector.

  1. Remove the 3 bolts.

  1. Disconnect the cable and remove the lock.



4. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
  1. Remove the open lever.

  1. Remove the grommet from the vehicle body.



  1. Remove the cable from the clamps as shown in the illustration.
