Vane Pump (For 2Tr-Fe) -- Removal |
- NOTICE:
- When using a vise, do not overtighten it.
- When installing the parts indicated by arrows, coat them with power steering fluid (Toyota Fortuner RM00000163T004X.html).
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag activation.
2. DRAIN POWER STEERING FLUID |
3. REMOVE FAN & GENERATOR V BELT |
4. DISCONNECT RETURN HOSE |

Remove the clip and disconnect the hose.
5. DISCONNECT PRESSURE FEED TUBE ASSEMBLY |

Remove the union bolt and disconnect the pressure feed tube from the vane pump.
Remove the gasket from the pressure feed tube.
6. REMOVE VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY |

Disconnect the connector from the power steering oil pressure switch.
Remove the 2 bolts and vane pump.

7. REMOVE VANE PUMP OIL RESERVOIR CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY |
8. REMOVE VANE PUMP OIL RESERVOIR SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 3 bolts and oil reservoir from the front vane pump housing.
Using a screwdriver, remove the O-ring from the oil reservoir.
