Exhaust Pipe Removal


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Unleaded Gasoline Specification Vehicle)

  5. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

Exhaust Pipe -- Removal


CAUTION:
  1. Wear protective gloves when removing the exhaust pipe assembly.
  2. The exhaust pipe assembly is extremely hot immediately after the engine has stopped.
  3. Confirm that the exhaust pipe assembly has cooled down before removing it.


1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag activation.


2. REMOVE TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY
  1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

  1. Disconnect the tailpipe from the center pipe and remove the gasket.

  1. Remove the tailpipe from the pipe support.



3. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
  1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

  1. Disconnect the center pipe from the front pipe and remove the gasket.

  1. Remove the center pipe from the 3 pipe supports.



4. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Unleaded Gasoline Specification Vehicle)

  1. Disconnect the sensor connector.

  1. Detach the 3 wire clamps.

  1. Using SST, remove the sensor.

5. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
  1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs.

  1. Disconnect the front pipe from the exhaust manifold and remove the gasket.

  1. Remove the front pipe from the pipe support.
