Exhaust Pipe -- Removal |
- CAUTION:
- Wear protective gloves when removing the exhaust pipe assembly.
- The exhaust pipe assembly is extremely hot immediately after the engine has stopped.
- Confirm that the exhaust pipe assembly has cooled down before removing it.
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag activation.
2. REMOVE TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
Disconnect the tailpipe from the center pipe and remove the gasket.
Remove the tailpipe from the pipe support.
3. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
Disconnect the center pipe from the front pipe and remove the gasket.
Remove the center pipe from the 3 pipe supports.
4. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Unleaded Gasoline Specification Vehicle) |
Disconnect the sensor connector.

Detach the 3 wire clamps.
Using SST, remove the sensor.

5. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs.
Disconnect the front pipe from the exhaust manifold and remove the gasket.
Remove the front pipe from the pipe support.
