Blower Unit (For Manual Air Conditioning System) -- Removal |
| 1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- NOTICE:
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Toyota Fortuner RM000002HD2006X.html).
| 2. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the upper instrument panel sub-assembly (Toyota Fortuner RM000003O1000BX.html).
| 3. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the lower instrument panel sub-assembly (Toyota Fortuner RM000000SQH00QX.html).
| 4. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT |
Remove the clip and duct.
 |
| 5. REMOVE NO. 1 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT |
Detach the 3 claws and remove the duct.
 |
| 6. REMOVE NO. 3 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT |
Detach the 4 claws and remove the duct.
 |
| 7. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 3 nuts, 2 bolts, 2 clamps and instrument panel brace.
 |
Disconnect the connectors and remove the instrument panel junction block.
| 8. REMOVE NO. 4 AIR DUCT |
Detach the 2 claws and remove the duct.
 |
| 9. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 3 bolts and cover.
 |
Remove the 3 bolts and pull out the steering column together with the steering sliding with coupling yoke.
| 10. REMOVE ECM |
For 1KD-FTV, refer to the following procedures (Toyota Fortuner RM0000013Z0004X_01_0005.html).
| 11. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT |
Disconnect the connector, 2 clamps and wire harness.
 |
Disconnect the connector and wire harness.
 |
Detach the 3 clamps.
Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the ground wires from the instrument panel reinforcement.
 |
Remove the grommet from the vehicle body.
 |
Release the 12 clamps.
Disconnect the connectors.
Remove the 3 bolts.
Remove the 7 bolts and instrument panel reinforcement.
| 12. REMOVE BLOWER ASSEMBLY |
 |
Remove the 3 bolts and nut.
Remove the blower from the A/C radiator.
