Exhaust Pipe Removal


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2)

  3. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2)

  4. REMOVE TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

Exhaust Pipe -- Removal


CAUTION:
  1. Wear protective gloves when removing the exhaust pipe.
  1. The exhaust pipe is extremely hot immediately after the engine has stopped.
  1. Confirm that the exhaust pipe has cooled down before removing it.


1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.


2. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2)

  1. Disconnect the sensor connector.

  1. Using SST, remove the sensor from the front exhaust pipe.

3. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2)

  1. Disconnect the sensor connector.

  1. Using SST, remove the sensor from the front exhaust pipe.

4. REMOVE TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY
  1. Remove the 2 bolts, gasket, exhaust pipe support and tailpipe.



5. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
  1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs and gasket.

  1. Remove the 3 exhaust pipe supports and exhaust pipe.



6. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
  1. Remove the 2 bolts, gasket, 2 nuts, pipe support and exhaust pipe.



7. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
  1. Remove the 2 nuts, gasket, pipe support and exhaust pipe.
