Brake Actuator (W/ Abs) Removal


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

  3. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET

Brake Actuator (W/ Abs) -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Toyota Fortuner RM000004W63000X.html).


2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
NOTICE:
Wash off brake fluid immediately if it comes in contact with any painted surface.


3. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET


  1. Place tags or marks to identify the installation locations of each brake line.

    HINT:
    1. *1: to front wheel cylinder RH
    2. *2: to front wheel cylinder LH
    3. *3: to rear wheel cylinder
    4. *4: from master cylinder
  1. Release the latch of the actuator connector and disconnect the connector.

  1. Detach the clip from the brake actuator bracket.



  1. Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the 5 brake lines from the brake actuator.

  1. for LHD:
    Remove the 3 bolts and brake actuator with bracket.

    NOTICE:
    Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50
    Be careful not to damage the brake tubes.

  1. for RHD:
    Remove the 3 nuts and brake actuator with bracket.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful not to damage the brake tubes.
