Wireless Door Lock Control System (For Built-In Type Door Control Receiver) -- System Description

WIRELESS DOOR CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
  1. This system locks and unlocks the vehicle's doors remotely. The wireless control system has the following features:

    1. The door control receiver is built into the theft warning ECU. The ECU performs the code identification process and operates the door lock control. A serial data link is provided for communication in the ECU.
    2. A key-integrated type transmitter is used and it contains the following 3 switches: the door lock switch, door unlock switch and alarm switch.
    3. An LED is built into the transmitter so that the battery status can be checked.

FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

Components
Functions
Door control transmitter
  1. Contains LOCK, UNLOCK and ALARM switches
  1. Transmits faint electric waves (recognition codes and function codes) to theft warning ECU
  2. Illuminates indicator light (LED) during transmission
Unlock warning switch
Detects if key is in ignition key cylinder or not
Front door courtesy light switch
Rear door courtesy light switch
Back door courtesy light switch
  1. Turns ON when door is open and turns OFF when door is closed
  2. Outputs door status (open or closed) to theft warning ECU
Front door lock
Rear door lock
Back door lock
Transmits door lock positions of each door to theft warning ECU

SYSTEM FUNCTION
  1. Door lock / unlock function:

    1. With no key in the ignition key cylinder (unlock warning switch is OFF) and all door courtesy light switches OFF, pressing the door control transmitter's LOCK / UNLOCK switch causes the transmitter to output faint electric waves. The transmitter will send a faint electrical wave to the theft warning ECU. The high frequency circuit built into the ECU demodulates the wave into code data, computes the data, and compares the data with previously registered ID codes. If the data is verified, a door lock / unlock request signal is output to the ECU. When the request signal is received, the junction block outputs a door lock / unlock control signal to each door lock. Each door lock then locks / unlocks its respective door and turns ON / OFF its door lock position switch according to the signal.
  2. Answer-back function:

    1. The theft warning ECU receives the door unlock detection switch's ON / OFF signals and uses these signals to confirm if the door control operation has completed. The ECU then outputs the hazard warning light's output control signals to flash the hazard warning lights as an answer-back.
    HINT:
The security horn applies only if the wireless answer-back function has been customized so that the hazard warning lights flash and the security horn sounds.
  3. Alarm function:

    1. When the door control transmitter's ALARM switch is pressed, the theft warning ECU receives the code data (recognition codes and function codes) from the door control transmitter in the same way as when the LOCK / UNLOCK switch is pressed. Upon receiving a theft deterrent alarm control signal, the ECU sends a signal to sound the security horn, and transmits several kinds of warning control signals (hazard warning light control signal, vehicle horn warning control signal, and dome light control signal) in order to output a theft deterrent alarm.
  4. The wireless door lock control system has the following functions.

    Function
    Outline
    All door lock function
Pressing LOCK switch locks all doors
All door unlock operation (2 step unlock operation) function
Pressing UNLOCK switch twice within 3 seconds unlocks all doors after driver side door is unlocked
    All door unlock function
Pressing UNLOCK switch unlocks all doors
    Answer-back function*
    1. Hazard warning lights flash once when doors are locked, and flash twice when doors are unlocked to indicate that operation has been completed
    2. Security horn sounds once when doors are locked, and sounds twice when doors are unlocked to indicate that operation has been completed
    Remote alarm function
Holding down ALARM switch sets off theft deterrent alarm, which consists of sounding vehicle horn and security horn, and flashing hazard warning lights and dome light
    Automatic locking function
If no doors are opened within 30 seconds after they are unlocked by wireless transmitter, all doors will lock again automatically
    Door ajar warning function
If any door is open or ajar, pressing LOCK switch will cause security horn to sound for about 1 second
    Security function
    Sends signal as rolling code
    Transmitter recognition code registration function
Enables 4 modes for registering (writing and storing) transmitter recognition codes in EEPROM, which is built into door control receiver

    HINT:
*: The security horn applies only if the wireless answer-back function has been customized so that the hazard warning lights flash and the security horn sounds.
