Fuel Pump -- Removal |
1. REMOVE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY |
Remove the fuel tank from the body (Toyota Fortuner RM000000YLT00HX.html).
2. REMOVE FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP AND GAUGE ASSEMBLY FROM FUEL TANK |
Remove the fuel gauge tube from the fuel tank.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to bend the arm of the fuel sender gauge.
Remove the gasket from the fuel tank.
3. REMOVE FUEL SENDER GAUGE |
Disconnect the fuel sender gauge connector.

Press down on the sender gauge claw labeled A. Then slide the sender gauge upward.
4. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL SUB-TANK |
Disconnect the fuel pump connector.

Using a small screwdriver, detach the claw on the end of the tube from the claw hole. Disconnect the tube from the 2 clamps.

Remove the sub-tank cap.
Disconnect the 2 fuel tubes and fuel pump harness.
Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws from the claw holes and remove the sub-tank cap.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

Using needle-nose pliers, remove the 2 E-rings.
- HINT:
- Slightly lower the sub-tank cap to remove the E-rings.

Remove the 2 springs.
Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws from the claw holes and remove the fuel sub-tank.
- NOTICE:
- Do not damage the fuel sub-tank.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

5. REMOVE FUEL PUMP |
Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws from the claw holes and disconnect the fuel pump and suction filter assembly.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

Remove the fuel pump harness.

Remove the O-ring from the fuel pump.

6. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL SUCTION SUPPORT |
Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws from the claw holes and remove the fuel suction support.

- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
