DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU receives signals from the yaw rate and acceleration sensor via the CAN communication system.
The yaw rate sensor has a built-in acceleration sensor and detects the vehicle's condition using 2 circuits (GL1, GL2). If there is trouble in the branch lines between the yaw rate and acceleration sensor and the CAN communication system main bus lines, DTCs U0123/62 (yaw rate sensor communication trouble) and U0124/95 (acceleration sensor communication trouble) are output.
These DTCs are also output when the calibration has not been completed.

When either condition below is met:
  1. The vehicle runs in the normal mode with zero point calibration undone.
  2. After the zero point has been obtained, the zero point voltage of the sensor is not between 2.38 and 2.62 V.
  1. Yaw rate and acceleration sensor (Yaw rate sensor assembly)
  2. Zero point calibration undone
    (Perform zero point calibration and check for DTCs.
    If DTC is not output again, the sensor is normal.)
  3. Skid control ECU (Brake actuator assembly)

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration (Toyota Fortuner RM000000XHR02TX.html).
HINT:
When U0123/62, U0124/95 and/or U0126/63 is output along with C1210/36 and/or C1336/39, inspect and repair trouble areas indicated by U0123/62, U0124/95 and/or U0126/63 first (Toyota Fortuner RM0000026QM00JX.html).
1.PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION OF YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR
  1. Perform the zero point calibration of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (Toyota Fortuner RM000000XHR02TX.html).

2.RECONFIRM DTC
  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Clear the DTC(s) (Toyota Fortuner RM000000XHV09NX.html).

  1. While driving the vehicle at a speed of 40 km/h (25 mph) or more, turn the steering wheel and decelerate the vehicle by depressing the brake pedal.

  1. Check if the same DTC is recorded (Toyota Fortuner RM000000XHV09NX.html).

    1. The DTCs are recorded because zero point calibration has not been completed.

3.CHECK YAW RATE SENSOR ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION
  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Check that the yaw rate and acceleration sensor has been installed properly (Toyota Fortuner RM000000SS503DX.html).

    OK:
    The sensor is tightened to the specified torque.
    The sensor is not be tilted.
