  1. MEASURE LINE PRESSURE

Automatic Transmission System -- Hydraulic Test

MEASURE LINE PRESSURE
Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50.A340E Automatic Transmission.Automatic Transmission System.Automatic Transmission System Hydraulic Test
NOTICE:
  1. Perform the test with the ATF at the normal operating ATF temperature: 50 to 80°C (122 to 176°F).
  2. The line pressure test should always be performed with at least 2 people. One person should observe the condition of the wheels and wheel chocks while the other is performing the test.
  3. Be careful to prevent SST's hose from interfering with the exhaust pipe.
  4. This test must be performed after checking and adjusting the engine.
  5. Perform the test with the A/C off.
  1. Warm up the ATF.

  2. Remove the test plug from the front side of the transmission case and connect SST.

    SST
    09992-00095(09992-00231,09992-00271)
  3. Fully apply the parking brake and chock the 4 wheels.

  4. Start the engine and check the idling speed.

  5. Keep your left foot firmly on the brake pedal and move the shift lever to D.

  6. Measure the line pressure when the engine is idling.

  7. Depress the accelerator pedal as much as possible. Quickly read the highest line pressure reading when the engine speed reaches stall speed.

  8. Perform the measure line pressure test again with the shift lever on R.

    Specified line pressure:
    Condition
    Shift Lever on D
    Shift Lever on R
    Idling
    370 to 450 kPa
    (3.8 to 4.6 kgf/cm2, 54 to 65 psi)
    480 to 590 kPa
    (4.9 to 6.0 kgf/cm2, 70 to 86 psi)
    Stall
    1,060 to 1,190 kPa
    (10.8 to 12.1 kgf/cm2, 154 to 173 psi)
    1,430 to 1,750 kPa
    (14.6 to 17.8 kgf/cm2, 207 to 254 psi)
