Crankshaft Position Sensor Removal


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE DRIVE BELT

  3. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY

  4. DISCONNECT COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR

Crankshaft Position Sensor -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.


2. REMOVE DRIVE BELT


    Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50.1Gr-Fe Engine Control System.Crankshaft Position Sensor.Crankshaft Position Sensor  Removal
  1. While releasing the belt tension by turning the belt tensioner counterclockwise, remove the V-ribbed belt from the belt tensioner.



3. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY


Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50
  1. Disconnect the terminal cap.

  1. Remove the nut and generator wire.

  1. Disconnect the generator connector.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts, adjusting bar and generator.



4. DISCONNECT COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY


    Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50
  1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the suction hose from the engine.



    Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50
  1. Disconnect the cooler compressor connector.

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and disconnect the compressor from the engine.

  1. Support the cooler compressor securely.



5. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR

  1. Disconnect the sensor connector.

  1. Remove the bolt and sensor.
