Throttle Body Removal


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

  3. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR

  4. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY

Throttle Body -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag activation.


2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
  1. Remove the radiator cap.



  1. Loosen the cylinder block drain cock plug and radiator drain cock plug, and then drain the coolant.

    HINT:
    Collect the coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the regulations in your area.

3. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR
  1. Disconnect the vacuum hose.

  1. Disconnect the No. 2 ventilation hose.

  1. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the 2 bolts and intake air connector.



4. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY
  1. Disconnect the throttle position sensor and control motor connector.

  1. Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and throttle body.

  1. Remove the gasket.
