Camshaft Timing Oil Control Valve Assembly Removal


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE

  4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY

  6. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (for Bank 1)

  7. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (for Bank 2)

Camshaft Timing Oil Control Valve Assembly -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.


2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER


    Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50
  1. Remove the 2 nuts and V-bank cover.



3. REMOVE NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE

4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY


    Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50
  1. Disconnect the vacuum hose.

  1. Disconnect the MAF meter connector.

  1. Remove the 2 wire harness clamps.

  1. Loosen the 2 hose clamps.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and air cleaner.



5. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY


    Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50
  1. Disconnect the throttle position sensor and control motor connector.

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and throttle body.

  1. Remove the gasket from the intake air surge tank.



6. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (for Bank 1)

  1. Disconnect the oil control valve connector.

  1. Remove the bolt and oil control valve.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the oil control valve.



7. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (for Bank 2)

  1. Disconnect the oil control valve connector.

  1. Remove the bolt and oil control valve.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the oil control valve.
