PERFORM REGISTRATION OF FUEL INJECTOR COMPENSATION CODE
CONFIRM WHETHER MALFUNCTION HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY REPAIRED
DTC P1601 Injector Correction Circuit Malfunction (EEPROM)
DESCRIPTION
DTC Detection Drive Pattern | DTC Detection Condition | Trouble Area |
Ignition switch ON for 1 seconds | When either condition below is met (1 trip detection logic): Fuel injector compensation code is not registered. Wrong injector compensation code is registered. | Fuel injector compensation code ECM |
- NOTICE:
- HINT:
- When replacing the ECM with a new one, if the injector compensation codes are not entered, DTC P1601 will be stored.
When replacing the ECM with a new one, input all fuel injector compensation codes into the new ECM as follows: |
Prior to replacing the ECM, use the intelligent tester to read and save each fuel injector compensation code from the original ECM ().
After installing a new ECM, input the saved compensation codes into the new ECM using the tester ().
Turn the ignition switch off and then turn the tester off.
Wait for at least 30 seconds.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and then turn the tester on.
Clear DTC P1601 stored in the ECM using the tester ().
- HINT:
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
- NOTICE:
- After replacing the ECM, the new ECM needs registration () and initialization ().
- HINT:
- Read freeze frame data using the intelligent tester. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
1.CHECK FUEL INJECTOR COMPENSATION CODE |
Read the fuel injector compensation codes ().
- OK:
- Compensation codes stored in the ECM match compensation codes of the installed fuel injectors.
|
| ||||
OK | |
2.REPLACE ECM |
Replace the ECM ().
|
| ||||
3.PERFORM REGISTRATION OF FUEL INJECTOR COMPENSATION CODE |
Perform registration of the fuel injector compensation code ().
NEXT | |
4.CONFIRM WHETHER MALFUNCTION HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY REPAIRED |
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Clear the DTCs ().
Turn the ignition switch off.
Turn the ignition switch off and leave the vehicle for 15 seconds.
Turn the ignition switch to ON for 1 second.
Confirm that the DTC is not output again.
- HINT:
- Perform the following procedure using the tester to determine whether or not the DTC judgment has been carried out.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / All Readiness.
Input DTC P1601.
Check that STATUS is NORMAL. If STATUS is INCOMPLETE or UNKNOWN, idle the engine.
