3UR-FE Cylinder head - Disassembly

  1. REMOVE INTAKE VALVE

  2. REMOVE EXHAUST VALVE

  3. REMOVE VALVE STEM OIL SEAL

  4. REMOVE VALVE SPRING SEAT

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 STRAIGHT SCREW PLUG

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 STRAIGHT SCREW PLUG

  7. REMOVE STUD BOLT

1. REMOVE INTAKE VALVE

3UR-FE Engine unit - Disassembly. Using SST and wooden blocks, compress the compression spring and remove the valve spring retainer locks.

  1. Using SST and wooden blocks, compress the compression spring and remove the valve spring retainer locks.

    SST

    09202-70020 (09202-00010)

  1. Remove the retainer, compression spring and valve.

    HINT:

    Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

2. REMOVE EXHAUST VALVE

3UR-FE Engine unit - Disassembly. Using SST and wooden blocks, compress the compression spring and remove the valve spring retainer locks.

  1. Using SST and wooden blocks, compress the compression spring and remove the valve spring retainer locks.

  1. Remove the retainer, compression spring and valve.

    HINT:

    Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

3. REMOVE VALVE STEM OIL SEAL

3UR-FE Engine unit - Disassembly. Using needle-nose pliers, remove the oil seals.

  1. Using needle-nose pliers, remove the oil seals.

4. REMOVE VALVE SPRING SEAT

3UR-FE Engine unit - Disassembly. Using compressed air and a magnet hand, remove the valve spring seat by blowing air onto it.

  1. Using compressed air and a magnet hand, remove the valve spring seat by blowing air onto it.

5. REMOVE NO. 1 STRAIGHT SCREW PLUG

3UR-FE Engine unit - Disassembly. If water leaks from the No. 1 straight screw plug or the plug is corroded, replace it.

NOTICE:

If water leaks from the No. 1 straight screw plug or the plug is corroded, replace it.

  1. Using a 10 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 6 screw plugs and 6 gaskets.

6. REMOVE NO. 2 STRAIGHT SCREW PLUG

3UR-FE Engine unit - Disassembly. If water leaks from the No. 2 straight screw plug or the plug is corroded, replace it.

NOTICE:

If water leaks from the No. 2 straight screw plug or the plug is corroded, replace it.

  1. Using a 14 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 screw plugs and 2 gaskets.

7. REMOVE STUD BOLT

NOTICE:

If the stud bolt is deformed or its threads are damaged, replace it.
