  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 MANIFOLD CONVERTER INSULATOR

  4. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

  6. REMOVE EGR COOLER ASSEMBLY

Egr Cooler -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
ПРЕДОСТЕРЕЖЕНИЕ:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.


2. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the engine (see page RAV4_ACA30 RM0000019Y9004X.html).



3. REMOVE NO. 1 MANIFOLD CONVERTER INSULATOR


    Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Ala30

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and manifold converter insulator.



4. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the bolt, nut and No. 1 manifold stay.

  1. Remove the 3 bolts and No. 2 manifold stay.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and No. 2 exhaust manifold stay.

  1. Remove the 3 nuts, manifold converter and gasket.



5. REMOVE NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

  1. Using pliers, grip the claws of the 2 clips and slide the 2 clips to remove the No. 2 water by-pass hose.

    УКАЗАНИЕ:
    Place a container under the connection before removing the water by-pass hose because coolant in the hose may spill out.


6. REMOVE EGR COOLER ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 4 bolts.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts, EGR cooler, O-ring and 2 gaskets.
