Ecd System -- Check For Intermittent Problems

Intelligent tester:
Inspect the vehicle's ECM using check mode. It is easier to detect intermittent problems when the ECM is in check mode with the intelligent tester. In check mode, the ECM uses 1 trip detection logic, which has a higher sensitivity to malfunctions than normal mode (default). Normal mode uses 2 trip detection logic.
  1. Change the ECM from normal mode to check mode using the intelligent tester (see page RAV4_ACA30 RM000000TIJ00AX.html).
  2. Perform a simulation test (see page RAV4_ACA30 RM00000135200IX.html).
  3. Check the connector and terminal (see page RAV4_ACA30 RM000000UZ301KX.html).
